Take a journey ‘beyond the walls’, accompanied by some of the brightest minds and boldest pens at York St John University.
In the thirteenth edition of the annual anthology written, curated and produced by YSJ students, bodies are transformed, secrets are revealed and taboo subjects are tackled. Praise for Beyond the Walls 2024:
“This anthology represents the fearless literary and editorial work of the most recent cohort of creative writing students. Having set themselves the brilliantly difficult challenge of writing ‘the unsayable’, the stories and poems collected here seek the frontiers of language, where things are spoken that cannot be spoken, or where words give way, as one writer has it, to the sinking of teeth into skin.”
