From the sprawling roar of the city to the hushed intimacy shared between individuals, this diverse range of poetry and prose, from a compelling symphony of new voices, explores every nuance of our auditory world – proving that even in the deepest silence, there is a story to be heard.
York Centre for Writing is a hub at York St John University, home to a number of writing events, projects and publications in collaboration with York Literature Festival and other community partners. The Centre curates two annual print publications, both published by Valley Press and providing commissioning, editing and publishing experience to undergraduate and postgraduate students: Beyond the Walls, an anthology of writing by students, and the York Literary Review, an international creative writing journal.
