Paperback

A collection of the best poetry from the literary periodical Northern Gravy.

"The poets we have published have come from diverse backgrounds. Some are well known, widely published and are prize winners, some have submitted time and time again and have developed on their journey with us. It’s a real heady mix of what is new in UK and Irish poetry.

So here we have a selection of poems that charm, challenge, weep and argue. They tell stories not just of the individual poet, but of the world we dare to live in. They demand to be read and reread, shared and debated. With poetry in our lives, our hearts miss a beat, the unseen becomes revealed and understanding closer within our reach."

Praise for The Northern Gravy Anthology of Poetry:

“This anthology sings with diverse stories of the extraordinary everyday, from motorways to beaches, from mudlarking to hospitals, from lapwings to corner shops. This eclectic collection is strung together with threads of connection, humanity and hope.”
— Rachel Bower

“An astonishing anthology born in flickering light, playing among shadows and dancing with ghosts. Death whispers, birth sings – a dreamscape of endings and beginnings: luminous, ephemeral, infinite.”
— Toria Garbutt
